For several years I have immersed myself in the research and practice of directing, screenwriting and acting. From these disciplines, I feel a deep need to address social issues that show the problems and injustices in which we live. For this reason, for example, I made a short film entitled Salven a la patria (Save the homeland), which deals with the problem of false positives. Similarly, I made a short film that covers the phenomenon of pederasty in the Catholic Church, entitled En esta grande inmensidad, from which I wanted to continue investigating this issue and I am writing its feature film version (the short films can be seen in the Other projects menu).

   

Throughout my studies of Social Communication and Performing Arts, I have had the opportunity to explore my interest in social issues and I have been able to develop a method of writing and directing. My acting work, with voice and body, has become a tool that allows me to explore the creation of characters and the variety of actions they can perform. Likewise, acting has led me to discover a methodology to build and write stories, because understanding how characters are built and the situations they live, I have been able to identify valuable tools to capture a particular topic I want to talk about.

Among the most predominant acting practices in me are text theater and clowning. These two techniques have allowed me to have a broad view of the nuances with which the actor expresses his speeches and the variety of ranges through which his emotions and actions can pass. On the other hand, I do not leave aside the importance of body work, but I have strengthened it with techniques of gestural theater and circus training, which allow me to go to the detail of the action and the precision of spatial management and objects.

Finally, the learning that has marked me the most during my training process is to recognize the importance of using my own experiences as raw material for the creative process. From my experience I have been able to verify that, whether for writing stories or for acting, resorting to those close events lead me to a deeper development of each theme and to always be motivated to want to express them. Thus, from these close experiences, I want to tell stories through films that capture any kind of injustice that society goes through, because, although it sounds a bit romantic, I dream of a better world.
